Inspired by toon ink
I set out to create a stylised toon material with simple controls. There are two "lights" which can have their colors, tint (amount it mixes with the vertex colors) and brightness adjusted. There's also an "Edge" control which contols the edge width.
By default the ramps are set for a smooth transition between the shading bands, you can make these sharp by editing the ramps in the "Toon Lighting" node group.
Sphere and Suzanne have white vertex colours, the custom object has been set to yellow to show how the lighting mixes with the models vertex colors.
